Nasim Moghadam: And Yet, We See
SF Camerawork

Nasim Moghadam’s And Yet, We See explores visibility, erasure, and resistance through photography, sculpture, and installation. Responding to survivors of the 2022 Iranian protests who were blinded by state violence, Moghadam transforms photographic images into immersive environments that confront oppression while honoring resilience and collective witness.

Through works incorporating magnolia leaves, veiled self-portraits, fabric, and human hair, Moghadam examines how women’s bodies and voices are controlled, surveilled, and silenced. Throughout the exhibition, she subverts the imperial gaze, a one-directional perspective in which power dictates how others are seen. By returning vision and reclaiming agency, her installations reveal looking as an act that can resist erasure and affirm endurance, courage, and vigilance.

And Yet, We See is curated by Zoë Latzer.
